This is a super location on a small marina just a short hop from downtown Key West. We loved the quirky nature of the Aqualodge, being on the water, and part of the working marina. The lodge itself has what one needs for a few days stay and kayak and bike rental is within a 2 minute walk as is a good bar/restaurant. What made it a 10+ for us was the wildlife--the afternoon we arrived a group of seven manatees drifted through the marina and past our lodge. This alone made it our new favorite place to stay. They returned every late afternoon to glide around for a few minutes.Towels were plentiful, the staff were available and helpful. Parking is free but can be hard to find when there are a lot of people in for charters and trips. We will return!

I liked the experience of being on a house boat in the marina. The size of the rooms and bathroom are about what you'd expect for a boat, so don't expect a huge hotel. The motion of the boat is not very pronounced. My mother and I both get seasick easily and we had no issues. That said, it was well furnished and had a nice "patio" at the front of the boat to hang out and watch the boats and fishes go by. The food at the marina is excellent. I'm from Florida and I always recommend eating at a marina restaurant over most touristy restaurants. You can't beat fresh seafood right off the dock!

Place was clean, updated. It was fun to stay on a houseboat and check out the fish that floated around us. We even saw a manatee once! Good air conditioning, fridge and microwave. Plenty of towels. Kitchen stocked with plates, utensils, etc. Location is actually just before Key West, about 15min from the old town section, which was not a problem for us since we had a car. An uber however would have cost us $30-$35 into the old town each way.

I liked that we could bike to downtown Key West with relative ease. It was neat to be on the water and have a little patio facing the water. My daughter liked her bed under the roof. When we informed the office that two light bulbs were out, Jose came and fixed them for us right away. It was nice and clean when we arrived. Soap and shampoo, as well as dishwashing liquid and paper towels and a kitchen sponge were provided.

It was a unique experience staying on the boat. The location and the amenities were all great! Wonderful to people watch or have the morning to yourself. We didn't dine in the restaurant but heard very good things about it. I had visited with my husband and a 2 year old and it was great. There is even a children's playground in the area. The location was very convenient as well. Even had kitchen cookwares and appliances
